Q&A Miya Pniel / Reception

The book I read over and over again is chaos

If I ran the city of Amsterdam for one day I would free the city of crime.

The quote I live my life by is: cool, calm, collected.

I cannot live without tea!

The best piece of advice I ever got was from my mum and she said ‘knowledge is power’.

Finally by Kings of Tomorrow is the soundtrack to my mind.

Marmite or Peanut Butter? Definitely Peanut Butter.

I’m a terrible liar.

The word that best describes me is cheerful.

If I wasn’t here I’d be dead?

The world is about to end, you’ve got 48-hours to do a bungy jump.

When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is turn on some music.

I talk to my best friends & dog every day.

If I wasn’t here I’d be in Grand Cayman.

The world is about to end, you’ve got 48-hours to have a big party with all my friends and family or try and find the government safe house.

Q&A Graeme Hall / Creative Director

The book I read over and over again is well-thumbed, dog-eared and loose-leafed.

If I ran the city of Amsterdam for one day I would make rain illegal.

The quote I live my life by is ”An apple a day keeps anyone away if you throw it hard enough.” – Stephen Colbert

I cannot live without HBO.

The best piece of advice I ever got was from my old ECD and they said ”Always go with your gut feeling. Unless it hurts. In that case you might have appendicitis.”

The soundtrack to my mind? If Trent Reznor, Johnny Cash, the Shins and INXS all formed some kind of super-group and released an album, that would be it.

Marmite or Peanut Butter? Peanut Butter. No contest.

And now, a few words about winning “look like your pet” contests. Not actually a good thing. Especially when you’re 6 years old, and your pet is a tortoise. Trust me.

Up was the last movie that made me cry. Damn it, even thinking about that old codger with the balloon house is making me well up again…

My failsafe joke is undergoing maintenance.

I’m terrible at accents. To the point of being insulting.

The word that best describes me is obsessive.

If I wasn’t here I’d be in Nosara, Costa Rica, trying to pretend I can surf.

The world is about to end, you’ve got 48-hours to freak the hell out.

When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is open my eyes. Doesn’t everyone?

I talk to my cat, Scrumpy every day. She is yet to utter a reply. Rude cat.

I’m scared of Mickey Rourke’s face.

If I could, every day I would eat the Roast Beef with Pepperoncini and Red Onions sandwich from Frankies Spuntino in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn.

My happy place in Amsterdam is yet to be decided on.

Q&A Aimee Shah / Account coordinator Intern

The book I read over and over again is Midnight’s Children by Salman Rushdie
If I ran the city of Amsterdam for one day I would make the bike lanes wider, get rid of the pigeons (I’m terrified of them!), and soak the whole city in sunshine
The quote I live my life by is “be happy while you’re living, for you’re a long time dead”
I cannot live without my Facebook account
The best piece of advice I ever got was from my high school teacher and they said “you can have anything you want, but not everything you want”
Fun – We Are Young is the soundtrack to my mind.
Marmite or Peanut Butter? Peanut Butter
And now, a few words about the disgusting weather outside… Amsterdam, get your act together!
I Am Sam was the last movie that made me cry (although I usually go through an entire box of Kleenex regardless of what I’m watching… you should see me in front of a Bollywood film. 3 hours of non-stop torrential downpour)
My failsafe joke is A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk, I have a work station…

I’m a terrible karaoke singer
The word that best describes me is adventurous
If I wasn’t here I’d be hitting up the sales and making my purse cry
The world is about to end, you’ve got 48-hours to get the girls together, hop on a train, go interrailing, have a few cocktails, sit on the beach and watch the sun set/rise… and call my family to tell them I love them
When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is hit snooze on my alarm clock
I talk to my best friends every day.
I’m scared of spiders, bats and pigeons
If I could, every day I would eat a whole cheesecake/carrotcake/tray of rocky road…or all three

My happy place in Amsterdam is at Hole in the Wall on Leidseplein, having a few drinks and laughing with my friends

Q&A James Winder / Planning Intern

The book I read over and over again is Collin’s Concise Spanish-English Dictionary.

If I ran the city of Amsterdam for one day I would get in late, have a boozey lunch, and knock off early.

The quote I live my life by is, “Don’t Be A Dick”.

I cannot live without something different to look forward to.

The best piece of advice I ever got was from my Grade 2 art teacher and she said, “If something is worth doing, it’s worth doing well.”

The noise a dial-up modem makes is the soundtrack to my mind.

Marmite or Peanut Butter? A day without peanut butter is like a day without sunshine.

And now, a few words about people who stand still on travelators in airports: They really, really shouldn’t.

Top Gun (the bit where SPOILER ALERT Goose dies gets me every time) was the last movie that made me cry.

My failsafe joke is about an Australian and (thus?) far too vulgar to actually be considered failsafe.

I’m a terrible procrastinator.

The word that best describes me is “considered”.

If I wasn’t here I’d be twiddling my thumbs in Barcelona. There are definitely worse places in the world to twiddle one’s thumbs.

The world is about to end, you’ve got 48-hours to watch the “Band of Brothers” DVD box set (including the special features) twice, and meet the family for a lot of drinks.

When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is regret going to bed so late the night before.

I talk to precisely as many people as is necessary, every day.

I’m scared of trams. Silent killers weaving a deadly path through an otherwise very pleasant city.

If I could, every day I would eat to great excess.

My happy place in Amsterdam is a title that is still up for grabs.

Q&A Felila Victor / Studio Artworker

The book I read over and over again is …I don’t think i’ve read a book over and over again.

If I ran the city of Amsterdam for one day I would lower the rent.

The quote I live my life by is “If someone says no, then your talking to the wrong person”

I cannot live without my friends and family.

The best piece of advice I ever got was from my dad and he said “always be prepared”

“I need a dollar” – Aloe blacc. is the soundtrack to my mind.

Marmite or Peanut Butter? marmite

And now, a few words about me

The Help was the last movie that made me cry.

My failsafe joke is whats brown and sticky and looks through windows…

I’m a terrible singer

The word that best describes me is quiet

If I wasn’t here I’d be lying in the sun somewhere

The world is about to end, you’ve got 48-hours to Fly to NZ

When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is press the snooze button on my alarm

I talk to anyone who will listen every day.

I’m scared of my bike getting stuck in the tram line…again

If I could, every day I would eat popcorn

My happy place in Amsterdam is all of it.

Q&A Martin Beswick – Creative

I never read a book more than once.
But the last book i read was called ‘The Five People You Meet In Heaven’ by Mitch Albom, which was pretty decent.

If I ran the city of Amsterdam for one day I would ban English tourists.

The quote I live my life by is “If life gives you lemons, make Lemonade.” by Dale Carnegie.

I cannot live without my friends and family.

The best piece of advice I ever got was from my Father and he said “Limit your possessions. Always be able to get out with only a suitcase.”

Tomorrow Never Knows by The Beatles is the soundtrack to my mind.

Marmite or Peanut Butter? Neither.

Avatar was the last movie that made me cry.

My failsafe joke is How does Bob Marley like his doughnuts? With Jammin.

I’m a terrible at remembering jokes.

The word that best describes me is quiet.

If I wasn’t here I’d be at home watching TV.

The world is about to end, you’ve got 48-hours to… find the best place to watch it from.

When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is make a cup of tea and smoke a cigarette.

I talk to myself every day.

I’m scared of drowning.

If I could, every day I would eat great food, but this is Amsterdam.
My happy place in Amsterdam is at Cafe Chaos.
